Shearch and Mapson when railway communication was fitst established. Every member of the hicks family (12) were shareholders with a direct interest in the company business As well as a large drapery, clothing and manchester trade. The firm added the business of manufacturers and complete house furnishers. They employed a large staff in their factories where all classes ofwood and upholstered furniture, car hoods, gemeral upholstering and bedding was made. Prices competed with the coast.
