BUGLE - copper and brass, WWI

W1970.1657

Bugle, copper and brass body with chained white metal mouth piece. Brass rimmed bell and most of body compressed and impacted with multiple dents. Long double lengthed grey, burgandy and gold coloured braided cords with bulbous tassles attached. Stamped onto upper surface near bell is manufacturer's details: 'HENRY POTTER & CO./ 36. WEST ST./ CHARING + ROAD/ LONDON/ 1906'. Fixed below, nearer to bell is engraved silver plaque that reads: 'Original Landing/ Anzac, France, Belgium/ Great War'.
