Blue Home Service Helmet.
O.R. - NSW Artillery Helmet - blue felt - 6 section band around base - rounded back - pointed front. Fairly poor construction - black leather brim. Interior - green leatherette with dark brown sweatband - ventilator at top - 2 ventilator holes on sides
Fixtures of steel - yellow metal plated - on top artillery ball.
On front NSW badge - ed felt backing - crown surrounding laurel sheath enclosing NSW arms consisting of cross with Southern cross stars at each end - lion rampant in the middle 103mm long, 87mm wide. Gold plated 'tining' alloy.
