(a) Hollow silver ball attached to mother-of-pearl shell handle. Slit in end of ball. Two "pebbles" inside to make rattle. Chain and safety pin attached. Silver hallmark on ball: anchor, lion passant, small "h" and maker's initials "A&LLd." Birmingham, 1907 - 1908. (b) Like a miniature pair of body building weights: two fluted weights on either end of a bar. "Pebbles" inside weights to make rattle, together with three small round "balls". Impressed mark on bar not legible, though does not appear to be a silver hallmark.
