WAX MATCH CONTAINER

H1989.737

Brass cylinder to hold wax matches. Has circular top and bottom, with inner ring attached to base: this can be separated from the base now. Has rough surface at base to act as flint. "HAVELOCK / TOBACCO / CIGARETTES" impressed on lid. Used by Bill Richardson when working underground in 1940s. to light carbide lamps.
