COMPASS, Prismatic
H1988.144
Prismatic compass with brass casing; has a cotton rope so that compass can be worn around the neck, marks on reverse of casing "J.M. GLAUSER / LONDON / No. B.14985. MK.IX. / 1940". Button on one sid locks the compass. The compass is an ex-army surplus one and was standard W.A. Museum issue to staff doing field work. This particular one was used in the Palaeontology Department for years.
