Former Kalgoorlie Mining Associates property. Box contains voltmeter lying on its back: it can be removed from its case. There is a small hinged door at front base of box which is locked. Voltmeter has plaque nailed to front which reads "Imperial Electric & Engineering Co / Perth W.A. / Allegmeine Elektricitats - Gesellschaft / Berlin". There is an instruction label which was adhered to the inside of the lid: this has fallen off. It is in German, but there are some translations pencilled in: "for direct & alternator current / up to 300 volts". Card is singed and dated 3.9.07 by German distributer. Has calibrated gauge form 1-300 and reads "Max 300 volt 1 degree = 2 volt : 7070 ohms" The serial number is printed on the gauge and is stamped in the rim of the wooden box (209163). There are two fabric covered electrical wires attached to the voltmeter by screws; these wires extend from the voltmeter and are entwined together, the united end is frayed and suggests a fitting may be missing.
