CLUTCH BAG, Leather

Metal framed clutch bag. May also be worn pochette style under the arm. White leather with various patterns imprinted into it. Background pattern consists of small sausage shapes. Six rows of octagonal and circular patt- erns cover the bag. Each row contains seven of these im- prints. Each octagon and circle has a sun shaped pattern it. In the sun shape there is either an octagon or a circle and again in these there are various abstract blobs. The sun shapes are dyed red and orange, each shape alternating in colour in the row. The bag is opened and closed with a metal clip. The top of the bag is trimmed with a strip of amber and black colour- ed plastic. The inside of the bag is lined with a synthetic cream fabric and has three pockets. It is stuffed with Japanese newspaper. The bag, with various other articles, was presented to the Western Australian Government following the Sister State agreement in 1981. It came from the 1981 Hyogo Exhibition in Japan.
