BLADE: SHOTO. Mei: 'mumei'. Sugata: 'shinogi tsukuri', 'iori mune'. Nakago: 1.5cm, one 'mekugi ana', 'ubu chu'. Hada: large 'itame' with some 'masame' in 'ha'. Hamon: 'komidare notare' of 'nie'.
KOSHIRAE:
Type: BUKE ZUKURI
Saya: Black lacquer over wood, brown leather combat cover with two brass sling rings 'ashi' attached with cat gut.
Hilt: Large grain rayskin ('same'), bound with black cord binding over wood. Fuchi/kashira: 'shakudo', 'nakado' surface with gilt overlay and inlay of vine and insects. Menuki (hilt ornaments): 'shakudo', each modelled as monkeys. Two Menuke with fish motive. Fuchi covered. Kashira: two flowers and two winged insects. Tsuba: iron, of 'naga-maru-gata' shape, with pierced 'sukashi' design of water iris simple floral motif.
Blade: WAKIZASHI type: temper live (Hamon) is GONOME MIDARE. Steel grain (HADA?) is large 'TAME'. Tang insigned, unaltered.
