Unsigned, Scabbard Panelled With Red Ribbed Lacquer And Ornately Enclosed.

Nagasa: 71.0 cm
Sori: 1.4 cm, torii
Sugata: shinogi tsukuri, iori mune
Nakago: 18.5cm, one mekugi ana, Osuriage
Kissaki: chu
Hada: itame with some masame
Hamon: hoso suguba with ko gonome, slight midare. There is a widening of hamon in the monouchi area into the boshi.
Horimono: Omote; gomabashi, two bonji, bo-hi. Ura: ken, bo-hi

Date: 16th century
The tang has been shortened considerably and no signature remains.

Koshirae
Type: NAGA FUKURIN
Saya: russet iron fukurin and seme, with gold overlay of dragon and clouds enclosing red ribbed laquer panels
Tsuka: all metal over wood, with bands of ribbed black lacquer at either end in imitation of binding
Fuchi/kashira: fuchi iron edged with gilt depicting waves, kashira iron edged with gilt depicting dragon. Fuchi signed: MORISUKE SAKU
Tsuba: of the rare dished naga-maru-gata shape. Both ryo-hitsu filled with gold-covered plugs. Design on convex side of dragon and clouds, with gold highlights applied to plain iron in nunome style.
