TELEVISION, Black & White, 'AWA', portable, white plastic

Portable television, black and white, with off-white plastic casing and detatchable back and a glass screen with a Perspex plastic covering. Recessed, black plastic control panel on the front, right hand side with round chromed steel, pull out rotating power and volume button above a round rotating metal and plastic channel control knob numbered 1-10. Printed on panel: 'AWA', makers' name, enclosed in a circle and 'DEEP IMAGE', and 'MAINS-BATTERY, SOLID STATE PORTABLE'. Below panel is a wood affect plastic speaker. Join of front and rear sections of the plastic casing around body is slightly ajar on the left hand side and on the centre top of back section is a moulded hand lifting grip and cooling vents on both sides and centre. The chromed, telescopic steel aerial at the back is attached on the right hand side and folds down onto a grip on the left. Two plastic hooks protrude on either side of bottom back section for the winding and storage of the electrical lead. The following adjustable knobs and ports can be found. Adjustable knobs: CONTRAST and BRILLIANCE [lower right side], V-HOLD, H-HOLD [centre back]. Ports: EARPHONE [lower right side], BATTERY CONNECTION [back lower right corner], V BIAS, V LIN, V HEIGHT - screwdriver [lower centre]. Warning label on three point plugged grey vinyl electrical lead extending from the right side. The makers label is on the centre back and states: 'AWA/ MODEL P17/ Mains Voltage 215-250 AC. 50 Hz 28W./ Battery 12-16v DC. 1.1A/DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE INSIDE...'/ 'MADE IN JAPAN'.
