COLLECTION OF CIGARETTE PACKETS, FRONT AND BACK SECTIONS

Collection of front and back faces of cigarette boxes made of cardboard. Various colours and brands. H.1996.238.54 and .55 are both boxes with the front, back and sides still joined but with no tops or bottoms. eg. H96.238.1 has a white border. There are blue and white wavey lines (indicating ocean) and a picture of a sea horse in black. Over picture is written (in red, black and white) 'SEA HORSE/ CORK TIPPED CIGARETTES/ MADE IN ENGLAND'. The back faces give manufacturing details and locations. eg. H96.238.3 has white border. Picture of sailing ship with a banner reading 'ARK ROYAL' on the ocean and beneath the ship it says in bold orange writing 'ARK ROYAL'.
