Gresham & Craven Sewing Machine, made in Manchester; compact sewing machine is hand-driven by right-sided wheel, and is painted black with elabora floral transfer pattern; machine has overhead threading system and detachable screw for removal of needle; foot of machine can be raised and lowered. Cloth plate is stamped "Patent March 1867 / Gresham & Craven / Manchester / No 24041 Machine belonged to Lydia Duffield (1849-1927).
