Circular "button" features sepia portrait of General Sir W. Birdwood against white background, flanked by an Australia boomerang and a New Zealand fern leaf and the words "SOUVENIR 1918". Badge also bears photographers and manufactures names around the border:"S.LANGFIEB PHOTO / A WRANRICK ? MAKER ? ? ST FITZROY MELB." General Sir W. Birdwood was commander of ANZAC forces up until Monash assumed command in 1918. He is featured wearing the Australia slouch hat.
