DRESS, Altered (Bodice & Skirt)
CH1970.61.a-b
Bodice and skirt of cream chine silk satin with floral motifs in pinks and yellow, trimmed with facings of ruched and corded white silk.
Both pieces have been so fundamentally altered (probably for dressing up) that it's impossible to guess the original style and date.
Info from Neil Hunsley:
Date unknown.
Silk satin and tissue silk bodice and skirt. I can't date this at all. There are some very odd things about it - I think it might be fancy dress - it was made late 19th or early 20th century.
