Town Team Albany and Museum of the Great Southern have collaborated to create and host Living Room Conversations. These short events allow the community to share and learn more about each other's culture, community, background, and identity.

Key aims are to:
  • Connect our minority communities.
  • Offer perspectives fundamental to the advancement of society.
  • Building bridges of friendship.
  • Promote understanding of the importance of community building.
  • Enable community networking through storytelling & sharing.
The cultural identity and diversity of individuals must be protected, respected and valued as integral to the whole. This vision of global unity forms the foundation of Living Room Conversations.

This month's speaker is Charlie Pierce, one of Vanuatu’s most loyal public service providers in the education sector. Charlie's presentation will be guided by questions such as: "Are the Pacific Islands really sinking?", "Can one own be an agent for effect social change?", "Can one forgive after trauma?", "How does one interest the Queen in prolonging a conversation?", "How did you raise your children in the middle of the South Pacific?" We will ask the Englishman from Vanuatu.
