Museum of Geraldton Education

COVID-19 Education Update

The WA Museum is now accepting bookings for school excursions to all of our Museum sites. Please take the time to read our COVID-19 Education Update to find out what the Museum is doing and any impacts this may have on your planned excursion.

Further Information

Overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Museum of Geraldton celebrates the rich heritage of the land, sea and people of the Mid West region.

Our facilitated sessions use interactive storytelling and hands-on activities to immerse students in exciting stories from the Mid West. Dive into the story of the Batavia, the Mid West’s most infamous shipwreck, or try out the games and chores of Geraldton students from 100 years ago.

Groups are also welcome to visit the Museum to view the 3D film ‘From Great Depths: Witnessing the wrecks of Sydney II and Kormoran’ and explore the Shipwrecks Gallery and Mid West Gallery at their own pace.

There are booklets and trails available for students from Years 1-9. All sessions and resources are aligned with the Australian Curriculum: History and engage students in the region’s natural and social history.

Bookings for the 3D film, facilitated sessions and self-guided experiences are essential.
