Call for Expressions of Interest

The Western Australian Museum is seeking expressions of interest from the community to join the Fremantle Museums Advisory Committee.

About the role

The primary role of the Advisory Committee is to link the WA Museum with the community it serves.  As an Advisory Committee member you will be a representative for the community in your work with the WA Museum and an advocate for the WA Museum in the community.

The WA Museum is looking for committee members from various cross-discipline focus areas and a passion for maritime cultural heritage. This includes experience in tourism, history and cultural heritage, marine biodiversity, shipwrecks, and education.

The Advisory Committee meets two to four times per year to consider general business. Being a committee member is a non-remunerated position.

Vacancy

There are four committee member positions available. Members are appointed for four years from the time they are approval by the WA Museum Board of Trustees. Members may serve a maximum of three consecutive terms (12 years in total).

The WA Museum is committed to creating an equitable and diverse working environment. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and young people. We value the importance of a work environment that is representative of the wider community and supports various perspectives.

Applications close at 5.00 pm on Wednesday, 30 November 2022.
