WA’s shipwreck heritage dates back to 1622 and includes the wrecks of the Trial, the Batavia, the Rapid and the SS Xantho. Learn how the new field of shipwreck archaeology relies on the work of chemists and conservators to prevent waterlogged and heavily corroded materials recovered from rapidly falling apart.
