At the Western Australian Museum – Geraldton children can enter the world of RE as they reuse, revamp, rejuvenate and rework the things we throw away into items of delight!
Eco Corner
9:30am – 4:00pm from 5 April - 5 July 2012Children will have the opportunity to discover their carbon impact in Test Your Carbon Footprint, create an EcoTransformer, try their skills at the fun eco-themed game Green VS Red, and see who they can become when they explore the Dress-up Box.

Now and then: A fusion of photography and history - N&TS2 Workshop

WA Museum Theatre, a free event.
The Now and Then challenge is to line up the old photograph with what still remains today. Join Christopher Lewis, ABC Open Producer for Mid West and Wheatbelt to learn the technique of how to best set up your camera, and get prepared to create your own Now and Then photo. What happens when you visit or re-visit the site where the original photograph was taken? How do you stand where the photographer must have been standing? What are the lighting and focus techniques you can use to create the best possible photo?

Adjunct Professor Dr Michael McCarthy, Curator, Maritime Archaeology
Since the 1960s WA Museum staff have been searching for answers to the mysteries surrounding the Dutch East India Company trading ship Zuytdorp. Dr McCarthy will discuss the ship and its loss, as well as the discovery of the wreck and subsequent archaeological research.
