Read their story

Ray served in the navy during WW2, 1942-1945. Was on first ship to enter Hiroshima after bomb to clean up. Gladys survived the blitz air-raids in Birmingham and worked in an ammunition factory making shells during the war. Ray's mother worked in the diptheria hospital and also emigrated several years later with her husband.
