Introduction: Physiography is used here in its original connotation to mean the integration of landform, soils and vegetation as landscape units. The Abydos-Woodstock Reserve lies across the junction of two distinct physiographic units, the Gorge Fold Ranges and the Abydos Plain (Figure 1.1 B).
