The non-camaenid land snail fauna of Western Australia. In particular, the micro land snails with my current focus on the family Pupillidae. This entails researching the taxonomy of the genera Pupoides and Gastrocopta which is assisting the identification and comment on specimens submitted to WAM as part of Environmental Impact Studies.

The endemic land snail genus Bothriembryon. This includes being a co-author in a taxonomic revision of the genus (commencing) and being part of a long-term ecological study of a species at Walyunga National Park.

Collections responsibilities

(i) Regular answering of molluscan enquiries from the public; industry and government (state and federal) agencies.

(ii) Assisting research scientists at other institutions. Numerous requests for loans and information about WA mollusc species.

(iii) The continual development, collection management and curation of a large wet and dry mollusc collection. Primary tasks include databasing; keeping up with current taxonomy (literature management); alcohol checking; loans and building up DNA tissue. Helping oversee junior staff and a large volunteer base to achieve these goals.
