Model Beam engine in glass case. This type of steam engine used to power paddle steamers. Plaque in case reads: "THIS MODEL BEAM ENGINE WAS MADE BY JOSEPH JOHNSON, IN THE YEAR 1856, \ WHILE SERVING HIS APPRENTICESHIP WITH JOHN MUSGRAVE & SONS OF BOLTON, ENGLAND \ PRESENTED TO THE ENGINEERING SCHOOL OF THE WEST AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY \ BY STANLEY JOHNSON CHAIRMAN OF THE PERTH DIVISION OF THE \ INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS AUSTRALIA 1947"
