Dress, black silk, fitted, knee length style with silver cobweb-like beading, designed by 'Tarvydas Platinum', Perth, Western Australia, 2003.
H2018.148
This fitted, knee-length evening dress is made from black silk. It has narrow shoulder straps and
a v-neckline. The dress is fitted through the bust with padded inserts. It is bias cut, with a scalloped
hemline. Two rows of bugle beads edge the dress. The remaining embellishment features either
alternating columns of bugle beads in black and silver, or alternating strings of looped beading
which complement the scalloped hemline.
History:
This dress was produced under the 'Tarvydas Platinum' label, a premium range which consisted of
higher quality fabrication and detail, and commanded a higher price point. Bree Maddox was
photographed by the Western Australian press, wearing this style in white to the Wildcats Ball
in 2012. A long version of this style in white was photographed by Aaron McPolin as part of the
collection campaign.
