DRESS, black, crepe, floral applique

Mid-length, short sleeved , slightly A-line gored skirt, black, crepe, with sheer cream peterpan collar with circular cutwork, stylised floral, satin, quilted?, applique on bodice and sleeves, sewn to appear as bodice and skirt set, dress. Sheer, cream collar, edged with circular cutwork descending in size from collar points to back of collar stand, lies over smaller black collar. Five circular, fabric-covered buttons, and press stud at collar, secure dress at front. Defined waist stitch secures placket, and creates small peplum over hips (150mm). Vertical darts on both sides from bust to waist and around bust to side seams. Short sleeves, with large, stylised floral and stem raised/quilted? applique from set in sleeve to cuff. Smaller applique descends from shoulders to hips/end of bodice. Slightly A-line, gored skirt with three oblong darts through centre of skirt, from hem. Some white staining on left side of skirt. Reverse: floral applique continues on reverse, bodice to hips. Black zip from left underarm to just above left hip, along sideseam. Broken small fabric belt loop on right back side seam. No belt with dress. Floral applique across shoulders hand repaired. Single centre seam down back of bodice and skirt. Inside: bottom hem hand cross stitched (original?), oblong darts hand finished/overlocked. Waist and collar hand finished. Centre seam at back, zip, cuffs and placket all machine finished. Small, discoloured, white and blue size label ‘40’ in centre seam, below collar roll. Some wearing under arms, few pulled threads throughout fabric, as new condition.
