SKIRT & BODICE, evening, black, satin

[1] Skirt, long, ‘Horn/KIEL’. Long, gored, black, heavy satin, ‘Horn/KIEL’, skirt. Wide elastic waist, top lined with satin, secured with two large hook and eyes, and hidden zip. Two black hanging tabs on side seams. Maker’s label ‘Horn/KIEL’, and red and white size label ‘44’ on back waist seam. Mid-calf length gored skirt with darts/seams waist to hem, with two smaller darts either side. Reverse: multiple gored darts/seams through the centre of the skirt. Pull in fabric over right calf, near right side seam. Inside: seams are worn, hand-repaired running stitch overlocking frayed ends. Fabric in as new condition. Some wear around bottom hem.

[2] Bodice, padded, long sleeved. Short, cropped, V-shaped, black, heavy satin, long sleeved, padded body, women’s bodice. Deep V neckline meets 19 small, round, raised, satin-covered buttons and satin fabric hooks, to V shaped bottom seam (V shaped to side seams). Padded, very square, shoulders, long cuffed sleeves, with decorative raised curved lines design and simple floral pattern on top of arms from shoulder seam to forearm. Padded body/vest cropped squarely at back from side seams. Some pulled fabric on body, especially over left shoulder (shoulder bag wear?) and middle back. White, linear stain down left breast, near top five buttons. Inside: lined with satin, sewn shoulder pads, fabric in as new condition.
