JACKET, military, Pinjarra Mounted Volunteers

Crimson wool close-weave military jacket with off-white cord knot detail to chest and sleeves. Stand-up collar with red linen lining and black metal hook and eye fastener. 13 white textile covered buttons to front. Jacket skirt has two off-white textile covered buttons either side of rear split. Button holes sewn with purple thread. Plain shoulder epaulettes. Two curved braid ending in Austrian(?) knots at shoulderblades. Off-white Austrian(?) knot and grey/silver Sergeant's chevron to both sleeves. Beige loose-weave cotton/linen(?) lining, in state of deterioration, over wool chest padding. Off-white cotton-lined sleeves with blue wrist lining.
