ALBUM OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA, Illustrations

Red leather-covered album, the front ornately decorated ina gold, stylised floral pattern and with a gold border. At top of cover is a half sun; there is a shield between an emu and a kangaroo below, and a banner reading "ADVANCE AUSTRALIA". The centre is lettered "ALBUM/OF/WESTERN AUSTRALIA". Below this is "ENTERED AT STATIONER'S HALL". The letters "CSB" are entwined in a circled on the left front cover. Below the border, "MADE IN GERMANY" is printed. The cover's reverse is decorated with a tooled border. Attached to the inside front cover are twelve fold out pages with detailed illustrations of various Perth buildings and vistas of perth from Mount Eliza, and East Perth. There are similar sections on "Freemantle", Geraldton and Albany. The illustrations are detailed, many with people and carriages. Buildings include the Roman Catholic Church, Town Halls, Government House, Australian Mutual Provident Society, banks, railway station, General Post Office, the Causeway, Swan River, the bar mouth of the Swan River.
