WAISTCOAT, Thomas Chapman

Waistcoat with collar. Buttons at front with five brass buttons and buttonholes. (Raised floral, leafy decoration on buttons). Buttons fixed with brass ring looped through shaft. Two welt pockets on lower right and left hand sides. Front and collar of wool/or silk fabric with regular pattern of blue, red and black spot-like colours on mustard/yellow background. Lined with plain cotton; back of same lined cotton with adjustable waist tab. Shoulder seam dropped well to back. All hand sewn, possibly by Thomas George Chapman according to family history.
