This object was part of a display set up in their foyer by Wesfarmers Limited in 1985 and was there until 1989. Objects H90.0008, and H91.0113 to H91.0116 were bought by Wesfarmers from an eighty year old blind man named William James McConnell who claimed that the objects belonged to his grandfather, William Alexander McConnell. This ancestor, as a young man, had been part of the Durack party which had travelled from Cooper's Creek in Queensland to the Kimberleys in the 1880's. The photographs are undated but Wesfarmers were advised that they were taken in the 1880's.

Amendment 2.3.2002: These numbers H91.114 - H.1991.116 are completely unrelated objects. See Group Member and Related Objects window for related objects.
