Information supplied by June Swann, shoe expert from Britain 18th October 1993. During inspection of shoe collection.
Smart looking. Probably English made. 'Cheap, rubbishy shoes - but showy'. Beading. Good leather; good bead work; junky heel added that doesn't match. After 1900. Must have been a very up-to-the-minute shoe if worn 1901. But still a cheap shoe. A cross button bar shoe, baded. A knock-on heel. Calf kid-covered heel. The latest style of which-sole finish. Well worn. Size 3.
