Into the basement

The demolition of Francis Street is nearly complete with the last basement floor currently being demolished and the final backfilling underway.

The site will be landscaped throughout December and January with trees and seating which can be used by visitors and the public while we prepare for a new museum.

The first phase of the landscaping will be finished in time for the Museum to host the Perth International Arts Festival contemporary music program, Festival Gardens, with bands and performances from 10 February – 3 March 2012. We're really excited to be partnering with the Festival this year. Check out all their events at www.perthfestival.com.au
