Snakes are amazing!

Throughout history, they have been sources of intrigue – even worship. Have you ever wondered what a snake looks like up close? Better still, would you like to touch one?

Here’s your chance to meet a live snake at our Perth Discovery Centre. Every Saturday in February, we are giving you the opportunity to say hello to our friendly snakes.

You can also participate in free craft activities, hear some great talks, and help us choose names for our newest snakes!

Details

This will be something happening every Saturday in February at our Discovery Centre. Visitors will have the opportunity to get a closer look at our live snake collection, and participate in the following themed activities.

Week 1 – Meet our Carpet Python, hear a talk on snakes, and make a paper snake chain

Week 2 – Meet our Stimson Python, hear a talk on snakes, and make a paper snake bracelet

Week 3 – Meet Wilma our Woma Python, hear a talk on snakes, and make a Boa Constrictor

Week 4 – Vote in the “Name our Snakes” competition, hear a talk on snakes, and colour in your own snake

There will also be the opportunity for visitors to pat a snake, and have their photo taken in front of the “Scaly Mates” poster on the Discovery Centre wall.

Family friendly event suitable for children ages 4 - 12 years.
