40 Years at the Vancouver Arts Centre

The Vancouver Arts Centre turns 40 years old this year! Through the vision and determination of the Albany Arts Council, the derelict old hospital building in Vancouver Street was resurrected into a vibrant creative hub. Now part of the City of Albany, it is still home to some of the art and craft groups which took up space back in 1980. Annette Davis has been researching the history of the Arts Centre for an exhibition at the Vancouver Arts Centre from October 17 to November 12.  Hear about some of the key events, changes and characters from the last 40 years in this fascinating look at our recent cultural history.

Annette Davis is a curator and artist who has researched and curated many exhibitions for the Vancouver Arts Centre including The Story of Wool, Bella Kelly Retrospective and Ripples in the Pond.
