Plastic waste collected and rolled into a large ball on the beach

On the Beach provides you with a thought-provoking look at the insidious build-up of small-scale plastic detritus on the wild and pristine beaches of the southern coast of Western Australia. Focusing on Albany’s much-loved Goode Beach, the exhibition documents a one-year period, in which water-borne plastic waste was collected.

Through high-quality photography and different coloured plastic packaging, the exhibition draws attention to issues of environmental pollution, hazards to wildlife and a largely unseen ‘universe’ of waste material that takes hundreds of years to decay.

Part of the 2015 PIAF Great Southern Festival.
