Garden Island

Built for the Pacific Steam Navigation co in Britain. Helped establish the tradition of the Orient Line whose ships all began with the letter ‘O’. Sister ship to RMS Oroya. Fremantle lacked the required salvage equipment and it was abandoned after most of the cargo, fittings and fixtures were removed. The bell was found by the salvor who purchased it in 1870.
