Below The Seabed –
Subsea Pipelines
Subsea pipelines are used to deliver oil, gas, water and other fluids between one facility and another, or to shore for processing and delivery to market. Subsea pipelines while relatively expensive to install, they are safe, reliable and cheap to operate compared to ships for transporting fluids. Challenges to the subsea pipelines in Western Australia are strong tropical cyclones around the North West Shelf region and new oil and gas reserves being discovered in increasingly deep water off the continental shelf.
