Stenopylis coarctata (Moellendorff, 1894)

Identification:

  • Minute flattened discoidal shell (width to 1.8mm)
  • Internal wall of aperture strongly thickened
  • Shell with faint spiral sculpture and relatively deep sutures
  • Umbilicus widely open.

Morphological Distribution: Northern Australia. In Western Australia it occurs as far south as the Pilbara region.

Molecular (COI) Distribution: 250km linear distribution across Pilbara.

SRE Status: We currently regard this as a widespread species.
