Crowds queue for tickets to Dinosaur Discovery when it was at the WA Museum

The Western Australian Museum’s own blockbuster exhibition Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous has opened to rave reviews at the Queensland Museum and will be on display there until 5 October, 2015.

WA Museum CEO Alec Coles said the exhibition broke all records for the WA Museum attracting more than 173,000 visitors, with strong demand seeing the exhibition extended for an extra three weeks.  Mr Coles believes it will be just as popular in Queensland.

“While in Perth, this exhibition thrilled a variety of audiences and age groups who interacted with the 20 lifelike models of creatures that lived 145-66 million years ago, in an era that boasted the most diverse range of dinosaurs ever to walk the planet,” Mr Coles said.

“Recent finds and a re-evaluation of previous dinosaur research are changing the way we look at and understand dinosaurs and this scientifically accurate exhibition, specially created by the WA Museum in partnership with Goldie Marketing, will encourage visitors to learn more about these incredible creatures.”

The WA Museum’s Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous is a unique cultural experience which has attracted interest from museums within Australia and internationally.

“I urge anyone who missed the exhibition in Perth, and who is travelling to Brisbane, to visit the Queensland Museum for this not-to-be-missed experience!”

Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous will be on display at the Queensland Museum until 5 October, 2015. Tickets are available via the Queensland Museum website www.qm.qld.gov.au/Events+and+Exhibitions
