Children can experience the paradise of Bali in a traditional banjar (village hut), barter in the market place, play congklak, try their hand at the musical instrument gemalan, help decorate temple columns or paint their own Balinese goddess sculpture.

In this workshop, children will take a sensory trip through the landscape, smells, sounds and colour of Bali. Participants will weave and create a temple offering, dress in traditional costumes and learn a Balinese dance.

In this workshop, visitors can discover the ancient sport of kite flying and its importance in Balinese culture as they build and fly their own Balinese kite and decorate it with their own unique hand painted designs.

Wayang Kulit (Skin Ghosts)

Children can try their hand at creating a wayang kulit (shadow) puppet and discover the technique of shadow performance, then hear about the ancient legend of the Mahabarata (a sacred Hindu poem) and the struggle between good and bad.

Children can capture the amazing power of the wind with both wings and sails these school holidays.
They can join in the fun by decorating their own soaring Sea Eagle Kite which they can take home for hours of entertainment.
In the Australia II Hat activity they can explore the famous winged keel and super sails that made this magnificent yacht win the Americas Cup.
Participants can learn more about rare Western Australian animals and decorate some creatures of their own in the Threatened Species Panorama.
