Photographs showcasing the beauty of the Western Australian coast will be on display at the Museum of the Great Southern from Monday 6 August.

Our WA Coastline features images taken by Western Australian Photographic Federation camera club members.

The museum’s Acting Regional Manager, Catherine Salmaggi, said the exhibition showcases images reflecting the diversity of the majestic Western Australian coastline and how we can positively interact with it.

“I hope that this exhibition will encourage visitors to appreciate and care for our unique coastline,” Ms Salmaggi said.

Visitors are invited to view the photographs and show their appreciation by picking a favourite image and completing a voting slip at the Museum. The most popular photograph will be on the Museum of the Great Southern Facebook page.

Locals and visitors to the Great Southern region are also encouraged to enter their own photos of ‘Our Great Southern Coastline’ to the Museum of the Great Southern Facebook page via Messenger, clearly stating where the photo was taken along with their name, age and what camera the photo was taken with.

The competition is open from Monday 6 August until 4pm on Friday 31 August. The best photo will be selected by the Ace Camera Club and will be displayed inside the Museum on the digital notice board, on the Museum of the Great Southern Facebook page and will be the photo of the month on the Museum’s August calendar. The winner will also receive a photography book.

Our WA Coastline, sponsored by Nikon, and supported by Fitzgerald Photo and the Western Australian Photographic Federation, will be at the Museum of the Great Southern from 6 August until 10 September 2018. Entry is by donation.
